PHILOSOPHY

How We View the World

Everyone has a worldview. It is shaped by our presuppositions, the assumptions we make that determine our view of reality. And whether we realize it or not, we live our lives and make decisions based on those underlying presuppositions.

The three most fundamental of these presuppositions is how we view the nature of God, the nature of man, and the nature of truth. These heart level beliefs impact every area of our lives.

Matthew 7:24-25 is a picture of building our life on rock instead of sand, on foundational principles that are true in all situations. And we can only do that by understanding what constitutes rock and what is sand.

All of our course materials are built based on the following worldview perspective.

The Nature of God

We believe God is the creator of all things. God has revealed his nature through his creation and his word. He is love, truth, full of mercy, and values justice. Psa 24:1

The Nature of Man

Men and women are created in God’s image. We were given the task of spreading Eden to the rest of the world. The plan was for us to work together with God in this exciting enterprise. But instead, we chose to throw off God’s limits (don’t eat of the tree of good and evil) and instead, decided to do things our way apart from God – to be our own god. Many would agree that hasn’t worked out very well.

The Nature of Truth

God is truth; therefore, all truth comes from God. Truth is objective not subjective, absolute not relative, and it is revealed in his creation and his Word.

Application

Our focus is on training leaders who know what they believe and why they believe it, and are able of integrate these beliefs into their lives.

All of our educational content is designed with this view of the world in mind. It is designed with a focus on training leaders whose foundation is built on solid rock, who are able to identify and stand against deceptive ideologies and the storms of life. Mature men and women who understand the times and know how to live.
